ENOUGH!!, Governments and Public around the world now cracking down on an epidemic of rideshare crime

This month saw massive regulatory changes and public outcry in direct response to a now overwhelming epidemic of fraud and crime committed by Rideshare companies Uber and Lyft and their drivers.

New York cracks down on unfair wages and over saturation

In an unheard of response to traffic congestion, over saturation and low wage issues with Uber and Lyft drivers in New York city, officials are now scrambling to cap the number of Uber and Lyft vehicles on the road.

It was 1937 when New York first issued medallions for the taxi industry.

It was because of the exact same issue of unfair wages and over saturation of the market that spurred cities like New York and London over 80 years ago to institute fleet caps and medallion systems.

China’s Boycott of DIDI after yet another murder

Though the Chinese rideshare company Didi has not come close to the number of customer assaults or fraud as their Uber and Lyft counterparts, the public in China has staged a massive boycott of the company after a Didi driver murdered his passenger.

Japan holds firm to rideshare ban

Japan has remained dedicated to safe transportation as a social responsibility.  As a result their commercial transportation market remains free of the issues that now plague countries where rideshares have taken hold.

In a recent bid by rideshare companies Didi and Uber, the prospects were grim that Japan would ever deregulate safety in their transportation market to allow rideshares.

Australia asks the 49 BILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!

Also unheard of are media, outlets and governments asking the simple question.

WHY are rideshares unable to provide statistics or safety numbers on their own drivers?

A new article by CHELSEA MCLAUGHLIN not only asks this question but on a rare occasion, Uber actually answered it by stating they would not answer it.

The United States
In the last month the number of incidents reported to Ride Safe has increased significantly.
The number of falsified Uber drivers, assaults, theft and traffic violations reported with Uber and Lyft drivers is now higher than at ANY time with the collective Taxi industry in north America since it’s conception.

This vehicle has no notification on it’s Carfax that it is being used commercially.

This vehicle has no commercial notification on it’s Carfax or registration.

The handycapped service sticker on the back is falsified as this vehicle can not provide full wheel chair service under ADA statutes.

The vehicle featured in this video has been reported FOUR times to Uber over a span of six months after the driver was spotted multiple times committing traffic violations and nearly running over a pedestrian.

This vehicle also has no commercial notification on it’s Carfax or registration.

The Uber AND Lyft driver in the feature image for this article was arguing with police in New Jersey.

That vehicle also has no commercial notification on it’s Carfax or registration.

Editorial: ‘Japan Today’ author doesn’t know anything about Japan today.

A recent article in the English language online magazine ‘Japan Today’ reveals that neither the publication or the article’s author have an educated or respectable understanding of Japan itself.

“This is partly due to confusion among the public about what the sharing economy is” -Quote Anne Beade, Japan Today

If you know the Japanese, you know they ARE NOT “confused” about this.

THEY KNOW HOW TO READ AN APP TOS (service agreement) BEFORE HITTING ‘AGREE’.

When a TOS specifies that your service doesn’t cover insurance for BODILY INJURY, THEFT or even BEING ASSAULTED BY YOUR DRIVER, you aren’t going to be finding many people interested in a population of people who average the highest IQ in the world.

The Japanese actually know how to read and understand that products and services require proper regulation and quality control.

Claiming that a population is ignorant or misguided simply because that population practices a careful consideration for community and safety is simply offensive and in itself, very ignorant.

To date, Uber, Lyft and AirBNB have cost the general public, their own service providers and their own customers, BILLIONS in uninsured damages, fraud, theft, assault, a general increase in unfair wage practices and a record increase in commercial transportation and rental property crimes.  This has lead to an inflation in the insurance market and a mounting economic fallout in countries where so-called ‘shared economy’ services operate with deadly levels of deregulation and an over all lack of oversight compared to their traditional rental and transportation counterparts.

The Japanese are being considerate of not only their community and culture but their very economic future.

Open letter to Uber and Lyft, “WHY are uninsured drivers and convicted felons still driving on your platform in Madison, WI?”

*Three weeks have passed with no word from Uber or Lyft that any of the drivers found uninsured or driving with dangerous criminal records (DUI/Sex Offenders) had been removed from the apps.*

For our readers at www.ridesafeworld.com and local authorities in Madison WI, we are making sure to note that the plates listed on the attached list (below) have been found violating the safety claims made by Uber and Lyft in one or more of the following:

-Operating without proper insurance in amounts described as required by the Uber and Lyft driver contracts.
-Operating without proper notification to WI DMV of commercial use (WI State Law requires this)
-Having committed a violent felony, sex offence, DUI/DWI or malicious traffic violations in excess of the safety claims for background checks made by Uber  and Lyft.
-Operating their own vehicle commercially in open and fraudulent violation of lease, warranty and insurance agreements.
*In many cases these drivers have been operating for BOTH Uber and Lyft.*

I have attached the latest update of the plate list for Madison, WI of Uber and Lyft drivers in this area (below).

We have found SEVERAL driving on the Uber and Lyft platform that have not properly notified the DMV of commercial use (WI State law requirement) and do not have proper insurance on their own vehicles.

Some are also convicted violent felons and have been convicted of DUI/DWI and sex offences that should have not allowed them on your platform if your background checks were actually working as claimed.

This list and all drivers appearing on it will be updated to www.ridesafewrold.com and the public will be notified that Uber and Lyft have not removed these drivers from these platforms or made ANY assurance to the public or ride safe world that steps have been taken to remedy this issue.

Uber and Lyft WILL be accountable for any uninsured wrecks, thefts, assaults and DUIs these drivers cause.

Sincerely,
Justin La Plante
